There is something that is done at least one or two times per year, and it is renewing your auto insurance. Having your car insured will usually give a good driver more peace of mind while driving, since they know in any event they are more apt to be covered by their auto insurance policy. It is truly scary that there are so many people out there driving no just without car tags, or a license, but, many will not keep or carry current auto insurance on themselves, or even if they hit someone else who may not be insured.

While you are out driving, and minding your own business, would it scare you to know how many people around you are not insured? I am sure it would be terrifying. In many states, if not all, it is the law that you have auto insurance on your car, and yourself while driving. Often, if you were to renew your tags, or maybe even your license, they want to see that insurance card. With that, they can see that you are a responsible driver, and you are adhering to the law. Not following this law, if you are stopped may get you a ticket, fine, or time in jail. If this is done more than once, the penalties are more severe. You could even lose your license, and have it suspended.

Getting auto insurance is very easy, and even just having the state required minimum is affordable. Often you can get lower rates if you have not had any tickets, or accidents within a certain amount of time. Being a safe and law abiding driver is a good thing when you think about how dangerous some drivers are. Remember your laws for your state and make sure that you keep auto insurance on yourself while driving. Not obeying this law can get your license and your car taken away from you. Getting your car out of impound alone can be very expensive, not to mention getting bonded out of jail. The ticket for no insurance alone is more than lost people would ever pay per months, or for several months of insurance. So, do yourself and others a favor, get and keep auto insurance.
